BROCK HOP

Brock Hop is a quirky infinite side-scroller set in space. Dodge asteroids, smash platforms and try not to get robbed by those pesky astro-frogs. More importantly, collect those Power Cores!

This relatively simple physics-based game is made interesting by the use of an array of powerups. Hit a Power Core to activate a random powerup, and then hit a second one to increase the power of your active powerup.

Powerups are randomly chosen and can include (but are not limited to):

  • Spawning a battery of platforms

  • Expanding the game area

  • Blasting you with a shower of gold

  • Several other ridiculous possibilities

So naturally, Anti-Powerups were inevitable. Hitting a red Power Core can cause you to lose all sense of gravity, double in size, or unleash a plague of frogs!

Of course none of this would really matter if not for the absolutely baffling array of characters and accessories available to buy with all the Scrap you collect throughout your travels. Buy hats, masks, scarves, glasses, and more ridiculous powerups.

Fun fact: On beginning the production of Brock Hop, I made a pact to myself… Every time I made a mistake or a simple error in judgement in testing, I had to leave it in the game. Turn it into a feature. For example; you can smash platforms into other platforms and make a small amount of Scrap out of it. This was initially a bug. Now it’s part of the game!

Brock Hop is my brain baby, I produced it within a month of deciding I was going to make a game with no real idea of what I was making when I started. It just kind of… happened. And I honestly couldn’t be more proud of it.

I really hope you enjoy the game!
